Sam & Lilly Nottleman: CANVAS BACK DUCK- (Male) Decoy

CANVASBACK DUCK (mini) is an original wood carving by Sam and Lilly Nottleman. Sam's meticulous attention to detail and accurate knowledge of waterfowl is clearly evident in this hand-carved Canvas Back Decoy.  His wife Lilly does the painting, her ability to balance boldness and natural gradation are what really bring the piece to life. The Nottelmans are a well-known artistic duo, and devoted conservationists.

.A large, big-headed diving duck with a gently sloping forehead and a stout neck. Its long bill meets the sloping forehead, creating a seamless look from the top of the crown to the tip of the bill. On the water it has an oval body and a short tail that gently slopes down into the water.

.Over my fifty years of duck hunting, I have only shot five or so canvasbacks. I created this quarter size, 'King of the Ducks' in 2015. The small size is a good option for a lover of waterfowl who may not have a lot of room to display artwork in their home or cabin.-- Sam Nottleman"
