FREE RANGE CHICKENS is an original acrylic painting done by artist Rollie Brant. Rollie often hides the name(s) of her subjects within her paintings, such as among branches, in wood grain, etc, not always easy to find! Meticulous detail and a vibrant pallet are her trademarks. 

“I'm fascinated by chickens which is why I enjoy painting them!... the feathers, eyes, comb, their various colors, the way they move about. (also my favorite meals involve chicken or eggs!) Chickens are of my favorite farm animal to paint! I love to paint chickens and look for opportunities to do so. We visited Forestville State Park, Minnesota and strolled around the historic Forestville townsite (National Register of Historic Places) where chickens roam free among the buildings and barn. I took a few photos and I thought the old barn was a great backdrop when this hen stepped in." --ROLLIE BRANDT
